Tri-panionship

Happy 4th of July!!

I don't know what did it, but something made most of you decide this was the week for a good solid email! Way to go! :)

Well this week on this side of the world was pretty crazy. There are two districts here in Omsk. To go with the two branches. In preparation for the Stake, we will be merging the two branches in the next few months. Elder Stucki, the other district leader, and I went on exchanges this week to play around with the borders of all the areas in the city. I went up to his area in Neftanic and we went to work. We had two meetings that day. One with a recently re-activated Aaronic priesthood holder. We had a great meeting with him about trusting in God's plan.

Losing your companion and being thrown into a tri-panionship is kinda awkward when you're trying to work both areas still. We went on a lot of splits with Vanya in order to teach all the lessons and help all the people we needed to. We've been trying to meet with active members lately as to help them better fulfill callings, and get them excited about the work. Our branch mission leader is really really burnt out. We had a good lesson with him about just doing what WE can do and leaving the rest up to the Lord. If we give our all, and hold our faith, he will come in his own time to hold up his end of the deal. We're trying to get him back into things one step at a time. Starting with missionary coordination meetings once every week or two. Hopefully when the branches combine, something will spark as well.

I got a hair cut this week...you never know what you're going to end up with in Russia...even the Russians don't leave with what they wanted.

So transfers are in! We leave tonight to go to Novosibirsk. I'm going to be serving with Elder Swenson. We'll be going to our visa trip this week at some point. There is a chance we'll make a drive by the temple in Helsinki on our way to the hotel where we'll be staying the night. Crossing our fingers! After the transfer, my district will be Sisters Mulitallo, Cisar, Butler, and Fulmer, along with Elders Klein, Hodgson, Swenson and myself.

Lately I've been studying the hymnal. Elder Hancock left me his pocket English hymnal when he left and I've started going through, reading the lyrics and looking up and cross referencing the scriptures referenced on the bottom of the hymn. There is so much power in music. Especially when we stop and think about what the words are saying. So that's another project that I've got going for personal studies. There are just too many things that I want to study, and so little time to study them all!

It sounds like you're all having busy, fun summers which is good. AnnaMarie said you're all flaking out on the family vacation planned for next summer! :(

Hope you have a great week this week.

Love,
Elder Benjamin Moore
